After Arizona Senator John McCain was diagnosed with primary glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor, the Arizona Cardinals offered their support.

According to Susan Scutti of CNN, Mayo Clinic doctors told CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta of the news regarding McCain. He underwent surgery Friday to remove a blood clot, and lab results "confirmed the presence of brain cancer associated with the blood clot," Scutti wrote.
Scutti noted McCain is recovering in his Arizona home and is considering treatment options with his family that include radiation and chemotherapy.
His daughter Meghan McCain offered a statement regarding the diagnosis on Twitter:
As for the Cardinals, the connection goes beyond sharing the state of Arizona. McCain is a well-known fan of the NFC West team and even tweeted after Fitzgerald signed a contract in 2015 to remain with the squad:
