Lindsey Vonn Says She Reached out to Tiger Woods After His DUI Arrest
Lindsey Vonn told Extra's Renee Bargh at the ESPYs on Wednesday that she reached out to ex-boyfriend Tiger Woods after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI in May.
"I reached out and I hope he's doing well," she said.
According to a police report obtained by Golf Channel, Woods told officers he had been taking several prescription medications, including Vicodin and Xanax, after he was found asleep behind the wheel of his car in Jupiter, Florida.
"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions," Woods said in a statement after the arrest, per the New York Post. "I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."
Woods and Vonn split in May 2015 after three years of dating.
At the time, Vonn released a statement saying that while she "will always admire and respect Tiger" they "both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart."
