Selection Sunday 2017: Bracket Reveal Start Time, TV Schedule and Live Stream

Brian MarronMar 11, 2017

While many await the unveiling of the top seeds, Selection Sunday is truly encapsulated by the angst, suspense, joy and despair of the bubble teams that hope they did enough to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

The 2017 selection show will be no different, as numerous schools can make a case for their inclusion into March Madness. As the conference tournaments wear on, several of those teams are building stronger resumes, while others are watching their bubble burst.

Let's take a look at the Selection Sunday schedule, as well as what teams will be glued to their televisions as their uncertain fate unfolds.

Conference tournament play has seen multiple teams help or hurt their cases for March Madness, but a large chunk of schools would fall into the latter category.

In the ACC, Syracuse and Wake Forest are out early in Brooklyn. Both teams finished the regular season with under 20 wins, and each program is not feeling too comfortable heading into Sunday.

The Orange sit at 18-14, but they worked their way back onto the bubble after winning five straight in late January into February. A late skid since has seen Syracuse lose five of its last seven games, so it may land in the tournament despite owning wins over Duke, Florida State and Virginia.

If the Orange do return to the tournament, they could be dangerous behind versatile forward Tyler Lydon and his 13.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Wake Forest may have a better record than Syracuse at 19-13, but the Demon Deacons lack as strong of a resume.

Head coach Danny Manning's team has a gifted forward in John Collins, who averages 18.9 points and 9.8 boards per night. Yet, the Demon Deacons only have one win over a ranked foe, Louisville, and they struggle mightily to defend, ranking 301st nationally by allowing 77.9 points per game. After a loss to Virginia Tech in the second round of the ACC tournament, Wake Forest's bubble may very well burst on Sunday.

However, CBS Sports' Seth Davis predicted a week ago that Wake Forest just needed to beat Boston College in the first round to secure a spot:

That presumption may in jeopardy after what happened in the Big 12 tournament.

Kansas State earned the biggest win thus far of any bubble team in the past few days on Thursday, as the Wildcats downed Baylor. The victory was certainly needed for a Kansas State side that had teetered on the bubble seemingly for the past month, as this is now a tournament team, according to ESPN's Fran Fraschilla:

The Wildcats have enough depth at all positions to make some noise next week should they land in the tournament. Barry Brown, Wesley Iwundu, D.J. Johnson and Kamau Stokes each averaged over 11 points per game. This team has plenty of size and athleticism to become a matchup problem, so keep an eye on Kansas State on Sunday.

TCU also worked its way back into the conversation by knocking off Big 12 regular season champion Kansas on Thursday. The Horned Frogs entered Big 12 play at 11-1 but struggled in the conference for much of the season.

Yet a win over Kansas coupled with solid triumphs over Iowa State and Kansas State at least give TCU a reason to tune in on Sunday. This is a testament to the growth and direction of this program under head coach Jamie Dixon, as this is a huge jump from its dreadful 12-21 campaign from a year ago.
