Dansby Swanson Placed on 10-Day DL by Braves with Thumb Injury
Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson will be out of action for at least the next 10 days because of a left wrist injury.
Per an official announcement from the team, Swanson was placed on the 10-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation. They also recalled Preston Tucker from Triple-A to take a spot on the 25-man roster.
Swanson was removed from a May 2 game against the New York Mets in the sixth inning for what the Braves called precautionary reasons.

1 Fun Fact About Every MLB Team Thus Far 😀

Young Stars Not Close on Deals
As the Braves have accelerated their rebuilding effort this season, Swanson has played a major role in 2018. He showed great promise in his brief 2016 debut, posting a .302/.361/.442 slash line in 38 games, but struggled in his first full season last year with a .232/.312/.324 slash line.
Things got so bad for Swanson at the plate that the Braves sent him down to Triple-A on July 27 to rebuild his confidence. The 24-year-old has looked very comfortable at the plate so far in 2018 with a .289/.336/.430 slash line through 28 games.
With Swanson out of the lineup, Johan Camargo will take over as Atlanta's starting shortstop. Carmago showed promise with a .299/.331/.452 slash line in 82 games last season.
The Braves lead the NL East with a 19-11 record entering Friday. They have two budding stars on the roster in Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr.
Swanson is going to be a key factor for Atlanta if it wants to stay in the playoff race all season. His injury isn't a huge blow for the team right now, as long as it doesn't linger deeper into the summer.
