WWE WrestleMania 33: Predicting Match Card, Title Winners at Mega PPV
There is just a matter of weeks until WWE WrestleMania 33, and it has all the potential to be one of the most exciting Mania shows in years.
There are storylines aplenty all across the likely card, and there are feuds that will captivate the imagination of WWE fans when the show airs.
Before then, WWE goes on pay-per-view one last time this weekend with the Raw-exclusive Fastlane, and that will give everyone a clearer idea as to what is happening with Monday night's premier feuds.
But for now, here's a look at what the whole of the card could look like, and a look at which stars could be walking out with the championships.
Lower Card
1 of 7- Multi-man tag match Raw Tag Team Championships: With the division in a state of flux on Monday nights, the WWE may opt for this bout to be one of numerous multi-man matches on the night to give as many teams as possible the chance to compete. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Enzo and Cass, Sheamus and Cesaro and The Shining Stars can all take part, with Enzo and Cass winning the straps, assuming they come up short at Fastlane.
- Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: The mega-bout will return for another edition this year, with it unclear as to who will be victorious just yet. That contest is generally filled with surprise entrants and members of the lower card in the WWE, so be sure for a few twists and turns in that regard.
- John Cena and Nikki Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse: This match feels almost like a lock already, despite the WWE not yet making it official. It is a logical match given the confrontations between all four members of this developing feud, and it will give Cena the opportunity to wrestle alongside his wife.
Midcard
2 of 7- Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker: Could this still be a possibility? WWE fans will learn a lot more about the possibility of it come Fastlane this weekend, and Reigns' match against Braun Strowman. But given how the two collided inside the Royal Rumble match in January, it would represent something of a missed opportunity if the company didn't give Taker one more big match before retirement.
- Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe: This is where things get really, really difficult to predict. There are myriad different circumstances that will dictate who Raw's big stars square off against at WrestleMania, not least the injury status of both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. But if The Demon King is fit, he'd be an ideal opponent for Samoa Joe as they restart their rivalry from NXT. Make it happen, WWE.
- Triple H vs. Seth Rollins: Again, a match hugely dependent on what happens with the fitness of one of the participants. This one is slightly easier to manage because if Rollins doesn't make it, Triple H probably gets the night off. But should Seth get to WrestleMania, it would be a brilliant addition to the card and the culmination of a lengthy feud.
- Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya vs. Mickie James vs. Becky Lynch: With Naomi on the shelf and Nikki Bella teaming up with John Cena, it makes sense to have the other four big female stars of SmackDown battle for the SmackDown Women's Championship, with Alexa Bliss keeping hold of the title ahead of Naomi's impending return.
- AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon: Styles may well have earned the right to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, but with Randy Orton retracting his comments about refusing to face the current WWE Champion at Mania, it suggests that Styles could yet be nudged elsewhere. Brewing tensions between himself and McMahon make this bout a likely fit for the midcard.
Let's jump into the main title matches for WrestleMania 33.
Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte vs. Bayley vs. Nia Jax (Raw Women's Championship)
3 of 7WWE has been carefully building up this feud for quite some time, and it would be strange to see the Raw Women's Championship settled over any other contest.
Who holds the belt going into WrestleMania 33 depends on the outcome of Charlotte's bout with reigning champion Bayley this weekend. Should Charlotte extend her perfect record on pay-per-view on Sunday, it means there will be a new champion going into WrestleMania.
Has the WWE missed a trick in letting Bayley win her first major title on a Raw show, rather than saving the big pay-off for Mania? She seemed like an obvious pick for the biggest show of the year at one point, but with that payoff now already having happened, it leaves some doubt over who will win.
Perhaps the favorite, after all, will be Charlotte, who doesn't look set to lose on pay-per-view any time soon.
Winner: Charlotte
Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (United States Championship)
4 of 7The events of Fastlane this weekend will determine which championship Kevin Owens is feuding for.
However, with Chris Jericho absent since his beatdown, that increases the possibility Y2J will return this Sunday and screw Kevin Owens out of the WWE Universal Championship.
So as things stand, all the signs point to a United States Championship between the two former best friends at WrestleMania as opposed to a Universal Championship match.
But who will win?
The feud will be entertaining on the road to WrestleMania, but the match itself feels like a toss of a coin.
However, if Y2J is taking a break after Mania, it may well be K.O.'s night.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin (Intercontinental Championship)
5 of 7This one could easily be filed under most surprisingly enjoyable feud of WrestleMania 33 when the dust settles on the show next month.
Dean Ambrose's reign with the Intercontinental Championship has yet to get going, but a feud with Baron Corbin, who is set for big things this year, could be the catalyst for it to start with a bang.
Both men clearly have desires on a higher position up the card on SmackDown, and when two men with such ambitions meet, it can be the backdrop for a brilliant rivalry.
Both are no-nonsense and physical inside the ring, and Corbin's character should work well with Ambrose's gimmick.
Who wins? It's a tough one, but Corbin feels like the right pick. These two could go back and forth through to the summer, though.
Winner: Baron Corbin
Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper vs. Bray Wyatt (WWE Championship)
6 of 7Randy Orton may well have declared his intentions to square off against Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship, but don't bank on it being a one-on-one match.
It feels right to have all three members of The Wyatt Family in that match, and although he came up short on Tuesday night, Luke Harper would be a great addition to the main event.
Leaving Harper out would leave him in limbo at the time when he seems set for a major push, so it's likely he's going to be involved.
Ultimately, however, he will come up short. As will Orton.
This has to be the time for Bray Wyatt to become one of the dominant forces in the WWE and control SmackDown's main event scene for a while.
Winner: Bray Wyatt
Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar (WWE Universal Championship)
7 of 7Should Goldberg win the Universal Championship this weekend, it will only increase the likelihood of his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania going on last.
And while that will divide opinion among WWE fans, it's such a star-studded affair that it has to be somewhere near the top of the card.
Most title matches at Mania this year are, as is often the case, difficult to predict. This one is the exception to the rule.
There's no way that Goldberg carries Raw's big title into the show after WrestleMania. Lesnar is undoubtedly the winner here, and there's not much else that can be said.
Winner: Brock Lesnar
