Dallas Cowboys Release Bandwagon Fan Application

Even during their down years, the Dallas Cowboys have drawn immense fandom. Now given an opportunity to advance to their first conference title game since 1995, America's Team will likely attract many more casual football viewers.

The NFC's top seed prepared for this possibility by jokingly releasing a "bandwagon fan" application on Twitter. Before receiving honorary Cowboys rooting rights, candidates must fill out a rigorous form, which inquires about past cheering experience and ties to their rivals.

Applicants also must identify obscure players such as fullback Keith Smith, who ran for five yards this season. Some longtime fans may struggle to complete that portion of the questionnaire.  

Presumably, the bandwagon fans will be allowed to return to their previous teams without consequence if the Cowboys lose Sunday's divisional-round showdown with the scorching-hot Green Bay Packers.
