Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell Fined for Touchdown Celebration vs. Colts
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was fined $24,309 and running back Le'Veon Bell was fined $12,154 by the NFL for their touchdown celebration against the Indianapolis Colts on Thanksgiving, per Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Friday.
Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the fines on Wednesday.
The incident occurred after Brown scored his first touchdown of his five-catch, 91-yard, three-score outing.
The NFL shared a brief look at Brown and Bell's celebration, which drew a 15-yard penalty after the touchdown:
Although the flag didn't have an adverse effect on the result, Bell was not happy after the game, per Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
This marks the third time Brown has been fined this season, which has included offenses for touchdown celebrations and different-colored cleats.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told The Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan that the team has discussed the issue with Brown:
Brown has had plenty of reasons to celebrate, though, considering that he's leading the NFL with 82 catches and 10 touchdowns.
Entering Week 13's game against the New York Giants, he is just two yards away from the 1,000-yard mark.
While the NFL isn't endearing itself to the fans by continuously penalizing players who show emotion by celebrating in the end zone, Brown will sink into further trouble with the league if he continues the excessive celebrations.
