The Colts announced Geathers will not be avalaible on Sunday against Houston.
Geathers Enjoying Strong Season for Colts
This is Geathers' second season, and he proved durable as a rookie by appearing in 15 games. Kevin Bowen of the Colts' official website said the team thinks highly of the safety-linebacker hybrid and pointed to his critical fourth-down stop of Tennessee's DeMarco Murray late in the fourth quarter of Week 11's game as another example of why.
Geathers has 59 combined tackles and a forced fumble this season.
Rookies T.J. Green and Matthias Farley will continue to be relied upon for depth purposes until Geathers is able to return to a full workload.
While the youngsters can fill in for Geathers in the short term, Indianapolis could use its defensive playmaker back and healthy for the stretch run of the season as it attempts to chase down the Houston Texans and Titans in the AFC South.
