Terrelle Pryor Says Browns Can Win Rest of Regular-Season Games

Joe PantornoSep 28, 2016

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor isn't letting his team's 0-3 start get him down.

On Tuesday, the former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback made a bold claim, stating the Browns can win their final 13 games, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

"We're so close to getting over that hump," he said. "Once we get over that hump, I think we're going to have a lot of success, even this year. ... I think we can win all the rest of the games. It depends on our mindset. It depends on how we look at it. It's just one week at a time."

Pryor, now a wide receiver, has been one of few positives for the Browns, leading the team with 14 receptions for 244 yards through three games.

He's shown an ability to jell with whichever quarterback is under center. In the early stages of the season, quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown suffered shoulder injuries, forcing rookie Cody Kessler to start:

In Cleveland's latest defeat, which came at the hands of the Miami Dolphins in overtime, 30-24, Pryor had one of the finest games of his career, recording 144 receiving yards as well as 21 rushing yards and a touchdown.

He even appeared under center, as the NFL shared:

While it might have been a promising performance in spite of the loss, running the table is unlikely for the Browns.

Cleveland has scored only 54 points through three games, while only six teams, five of them in the NFC, have allowed more points than the Browns' 84.

Adding to the unlikelihood that they could go 13-3, the Browns still have to play the New England Patriots in Week 5 and their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, twice apiece.

If Cleveland backs up Pryor's words, it would be the first time since 2007 that it would win 10 or more games in a season. It would also clinch its first playoff appearance since 2002.

In addition, it would be the first time since 1948, when they were a part of the All-America Football Conference, that the Browns would win 13 or more games. They went 14-0 that year and were crowned champions of the league, which lasted just four seasons from 1946 to 1949.
