Coby Fleener, Brandin Cooks, Michael Thomas' Post-Week 3 Fantasy Advice

The New Orleans Saints might not have the best defense in the NFL, but there are a lot of quality pass-catchers in this offense.

Here is a look at the Saints' notable receiving totals from their 45-32 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday:

The big surprise was the performance of Brandin Cooks, who undoubtedly disappointed a long list of fantasy football owners by barely registering on the stat sheet.

On the other hand, he still had eight targets after totaling nine in each of the first two games of the season. It's clear the first game of the season (143 receiving yards and two touchdowns) isn't something we can expect every week, but he is still the most dynamic player in this offense.

He has another tough matchup next week with Jason Verrett and the San Diego Chargers but has enough upside to remain in your lineup.

There are bigger questions involving the rest of the scorers in Week 3.

Coby Fleener was the big winner after finishing with seven catches for 109 receiving yards and a touchdown as well as tying for a team-high 11 targets. Mike Triplett of ESPN noted his comfort in the offense:

The tight end had been an awkward fit to this point, catching just three of the 12 throws his way in two games. However, he clearly has a valuable role within the offense and can be a high-upside player going forward. If you haven't given up on him yet, he could help your fantasy team a lot for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, receivers Brandon Coleman and Michael Thomas are worth adding to rosters—especially Thomas. He benefited from the absence of Willie Snead but was more than just a system player, as noted by ESPN's Trey Wingo:

The rookie displayed great hands while consistently getting himself open. He should be on fantasy rosters in every type of league, and if Snead misses any more time, he should be in your starting lineup.
