McMahon Expected Back at Work Wednesday
Monday, Sept. 12
Despite McMahon's injury, WWE said he will be back in the office at WWE headquarters Wednesday.
At 71 years of age, McMahon continues to captain the WWE ship, and his influence remains paramount on Raw, SmackDown and WWE Network specials.
McMahon is considered one of the best on-screen characters in WWE history, but he hasn't appeared on WWE programming since July, which means his injury doesn't figure to have a sizable impact on the product.
With his children—Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon—serving as on-screen authority figures, McMahon is able to focus solely on the behind-the-scenes aspects of running the company.
Most likely, WWE wanted to get ahead of any rumors about McMahon's health and allay any potential fears the company's investors might have.
Considering his age, the fact that McMahon needed to go under the knife to repair any damage he suffered from the undisclosed injury is a noteworthy development. His relatively quick recovery would lead one to believe the problem isn't anything major, though.
