Ivory Struggling to Remain on Field
This is the second health issue Ivory has dealt with during the 2016 season. He missed Jacksonville's season-opening 27-23 defeat to the Green Bay Packers after being hospitalized with an undisclosed injury. In his absence, T.J. Yeldon ran for 39 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
Ivory was discharged from the hospital on Sept. 15.
The 28-year-old provides some stability in the backfield. In three years with the New York Jets, he averaged 908 yards per season and registered a 1,000-yard campaign in 2015.
The Jaguars expected Yeldon to take a step forward following his somewhat underwhelming rookie season, but his yards-per-carry average has fallen from 4.1 a year ago to 3.6 in 2016. As a result, Ivory has played a key role in Jacksonville's backfield.
