New York Islander Fan Central looks at the following for its 6/2 blog update:

* A Los Angeles Times article from Helene Elliott on former Islander Dave Lewis,  how he was traded for Butch Goring in March 1980 and was with the Wings between Scotty Bowman and Mike Babcock.

* NHL.com's feature from Brian Compton where Bill Torrey talks about how current Wings Senior Vice President & Alternate Governor Jimmy Devellano came to New York as a scout long ago and helped build a New York Hockey dynasty, along with the great job he has done in Detroit working with Wings GM Ken Holland.

* Tsn.ca's comparison of the core Wings players to some of the great dynasty teams in league history, including New York.

* THN.com's Brian Costello looks at the top picks in the 2008 draft and why he feels this group will eventually go down among the best ever, as he makes comparisons with the class of 1979 after the WHA disbanded.

  • B/R Ticket Guide

* Chris Botta's Point Blank blog & his upcoming feature he wrote recently for THN.

* A separate blog season-ending review and grade of forward Ruslan Fedotenko. A review of Trent Hunter's season is also scheduled for release.

* Blog changes to include the Lighthouse feeder & upcoming community events.

* Prospect center changes to reflect the lack of a transfer agreement for the European prospects from 2006 who would have been required to sign by 6/1 under the old agreement.

Notables:

New York Islander Fan Central updates most days, depending on what's happening but I may not be able to update here. The site has most if not all of the major feeders for information on the team and the league in its media section or links to those sites on days I am not available.

The blog itself time-releases some information, or I simply edit a blog already written and indicate the time of the update. Things happen quickly.

No, I am not a member of the media, my blog comments are my own and not from any kind of insider perspective, nor will I pass them off as such. I do not have aspirations to become a member of the media.

Rumors and gossip, you will not find there. We'll use professional media sources only for articles & information. Trade rumors I prefer to be dead last and 100 percent correct. I'm not into the scoop business but will blog and tell if you professional media sources report something could happen regarding the club.

All New York Islander information from the NHL, AHL, Prospects & Europe to the teams media coverage is covered.

Thanks for reading.
