High School Team Recovers Onside Kick After Ball Deflects off Opponent's Helmet

An onside kick doesn't have to be pretty. All that matters is getting the ball back.

That's what one high school football team learned with this bizarre play, courtesy of @johnhanle and @adrian629 (via ESPN):

The rules make it a live ball as soon as it either travels 10 yards or touches the other team. While luck might have been involved in the ball directly bouncing off an opponent's helmet, it counts the same in the box score.

As for the targeted player, he might want to duck next time.
