Little League World Series 2016: Updated US, International Brackets and Schedule
It's going to be a pair of rematches to determine the winners of the international and United States Little League championships.
The international matchup will feature a powerful South Korea team, representing the Asia-Pacific region, squaring off with Panama, the Latin American champion. South Korea rolled over Mexico by a 7-0 margin Thursday to earn its spot against the undefeated Panamanians.
On the American side, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, earned an 8-4 victory over Bowling Green, Kentucky. That victory by the Southeast regional representative gave it a spot in the U.S. title game against undefeated Endwell, New York.
The Mid-Atlantic representatives met Goodlettsville Monday night and pulled out a 3-1 victory in that game. Ryan Harlost hit a two-run home run in the first inning to set the tone for the winners. Both teams threatened throughout the game, but the pitchers and defense kept this a low-scoring contest.
Panama and South Korea met Wednesday night. South Korea took a 2-0 lead into the fifth inning, but Esmith Pineda belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth, and that dramatic blow gave Panama a 3-2 victory.

Despite that loss, South Korea has been dominant in its victories throughout the tournament. In Thursday's win over Mexico, Seum Kwon belted two home runs to lead the offensive attack.
Sangheon Park was quite effective on the mound for the Asia-Pacific representatives. He allowed just one hit while striking out nine without walking a batter.
The Goodlettsville-Bowling Green game was somewhat closer, but once the Tennessee team took the lead with five runs in the top of the fourth inning, it couldn't be caught.
Zach McWilliams hit a grand slam in that inning to dead center field that turned a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 lead. Relief pitcher RJ Moore held the Kentuckians in check during the final two innings. He gave up two hits, struck out five and did not give up a run.
After daily action throughout the tournament—with the exception of Sunday's rainouts—the four remaining teams will have a much-needed day off Friday.
This should help the four bracket finalists set their pitching rotations for the title games.
