Amendola Is Valuable Target for Patriots in Passing Game
Amendola was fairly healthy last season, as he tallied 65 catches for 648 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season appearances. But he underwent offseason ankle and knee surgeries that proved to be somewhat concerning, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.
Around the same time, Amendola restructured his contract to remain with the Patriots. According to Fox Sports (via Reiss), his contract is now worth $7.35 million over the next two seasons. It was originally slated to pay out base salaries of $5 million and $6 million in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
Now in his fourth season with the franchise, Amendola has 23 catches for 243 yards and four scores.
