Arsenal Transfer News: Alvaro Morata Terms Amid Chelsea, Manchester United Talk
Juventus striker Alvaro Morata reportedly wants to earn €7.5 million per year amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to Carlo Laudisa of Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Gazzetta World), Real Madrid are set to hold talks with the Bianconeri "in the upcoming days," with Los Blancos seeking to exercise his €30 million buyback clause, and Morata has told the London duo the terms he expects if he moves.
Per Spanish radio station Onda Cero (h/t Metro's Mark Brus), United are also among the Premier League sides interested in him.
Meanwhile, Madrid forward Lucas Vazquez is hopeful Morata will return to the Santiago Bernabeu and stay there. Per Gazzetta World, he said, "Hopefully Real Madrid can re-sign Morata. He has had two great years and hopefully if the club decides on it, he will come back to us."
In Spain's opening match at the European Championship, football writer Michael Caley opined that the forward could be trying to earn the big-money contract he reportedly desires:
"Alvaro Morata is playing like a man who knows the size of his next contract will be partly a function of his performance here. This is fun.

Real have the least need for his services thanks to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, but each of the English sides are in need of more firepower.
Chelsea have few quality centre-forward options beyond Diego Costa, while Arsenal are far too reliant on Olivier Giroud—a useful squad player but not prolific enough to fire them to the title.
As for United, they accrued just 49 goals in the league, and with Wayne Rooney's transition into midfield, their only other recognised centre-forwards are young duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Morata bagged 12 goals and as many assists in all competitions for Juve this season. Here is a selection of his highlights:
WhoScored.com revealed his goalscoring record in Serie A:
While all three sides would hope he can improve on that record, he does have a tendency to find the net in the biggest games, when it matters most.
The Spaniard netted the winning goal for the Bianconeri in the Coppa Italia final last season after coming on with just 12 minutes of extra time to play. BT Sport's James Horncastle hailed his impact:
His pace, dribbling and intelligent runs also help stretch teams, and as his assist record demonstrates, he brings more than just goals to his impressive forward play.
Sky Sports' Fabrizio Romano believes Los Blancos will demand a hefty fee for him in the summer as they look to profit from his sale:
While all three sides can afford such a price, and he's certainly an excellent player, that's a lot of money for a 23-year-old who has scored just 38 senior goals in his club career.
Nevertheless, if Morata can continue the impressive development he's made over the last two seasons, he may be able to justify that price tag in the long term.
