Winner: Dustin Johnson (-4)
Dustin Johnson conquered Oakmont Country Club with a fantastic fourth round on Sunday in the midst of controversy.
The American used a terrific approach shot on the 18th hole to set up a winning birdie putt that moved his score up to five under. He was docked a shot after the round for an incident on the fifth hole.

Johnson was in the middle of a brewing storm for most of the back nine as the USGA officials approached him on the 12th tee box about a review of his putt back on the fifth green in which the ball moved as he was in the process of addressing the ball. Despite facing a potential one-stroke penalty, Johnson kept a cool demeanor and secured his first major championship.
Shane Lowry, Jim Furyk and Scott Piercy tied for second at one under. Furyk was the clubhouse leader for the majority of the round after he recorded an early 66. Lowry, who was in the lead at the start of the round, bogeyed three of the final five holes. Piercy was consistent for most of Sunday until he gave two strokes back to the course at the 16th and 18th holes.
Sergio Garcia and Branden Grace tied for fifth at even par. Garcia was up as high as three under before three straight bogeys starting at the 14th hole.
The scoring decision was still assessed by the USGA at the conclusion of the round, but it was irrelevant in the end after the collapses of the players behind Johnson.
