Robert Quinn Injury: Updates on Rams Star's Shoulder and Return

Adam WellsOct 21, 2016

After missing the Los Angeles Rams' past two games due to a shoulder injury, defensive end Robert Quinn is ready to return against the New York Giants in Week 7 in London, according to Rams insider Myles Simmons

Quinn has seven tackles and two sacks so far this season, and his absence was felt in each of the past two contests. The Rams lost both after starting 3-1.

A first-round pick in 2011, Quinn came into his own two years later with a career-high 19 sacks. He was one of the NFL's premier sack artists from 2012 to 2014, racking up 40 during that span.

Last year was a rough one for Quinn, who missed eight games and was placed on injured reserve with a back issue that required surgery. He was still on the road to recovery in June as the Rams were going through organized team activities.

If Quinn is forced to the sidelines again this season, Eugene Sims and Ethan Westbrooks will likely pick up his playing time.

Quinn is the dynamic edge-rusher that puts the Rams defensive line over the top. He's as dominant as any pass-rusher in the NFL when healthy. Against a potent Giants passing offense anchored by quarterback Eli Manning and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., Quinn will be a critical asset.
