Barcelona have released footage that shows how the club will develop the Camp Nou in the coming years.

They released another clip showing how the stadium is set to look once the refurbishment is complete:

According to Sport, the redevelopment is scheduled to be done by 2021 and will see the stadium’s capacity jump to a whopping 105,000.

Sport also added the "spaces between seats will be improved" and "each stand will feature better spaces for people with reduced mobility or other disabilities." There will also be a “perfect view” for every spectator, with the gradient of the first tier set to be increased.

Barcelona moved from the Camp de Les Corts to the Camp Nou in 1957, and it’s been the home to this illustrious football club since. The capacity stands at 99,354, according to the club's official site.

Football journalist Andy Mitten posted further images of how the stadium is set to shape up once this process is done:

While Barcelona have one of the biggest fanbases in world football, the club rarely sells all of its tickets on a weekly basis. Last season, the club’s average attendance was 77,632, per Statista, meaning more than 20,000 seats were left empty for a lot of Primera Division matches.

Still, the stadium, while possessing an incomparable charm and sense of history, does need to be adapted in a lot of areas, and the club is evidently keen on making the Camp Nou a modern-day venue.

For Barcelona supporters, these are exciting times. The fact the club will remain at its spiritual home for years to come is something to be cherished—as is the fact these developments will ensure the Camp Nou remains one of the best places in the world to watch football.
