The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed wide receiver Eric Rogers, formerly of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League, to a two-year contract.

ESPN's Adam Schefter initially reported the news Wednesday.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rogers the two-year deal contains a $100,000 base salary guarantee, a $125,000 signing bonus and $75,000 in other bonuses.

Schefter said it is the "most lucrative" deal for a CFL player since the Miami Dolphins acquired defensive end Cameron Wake.

The Dolphins signed Wake to a four-year, $2.6 million deal in 2009 after his two seasons with the British Columbia Lions, per Spotrac.com.

A 6'4", 215-pound receiver, Rogers led the CFL with 1,448 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns in his second season in the league. The 24-year-old is a product of Cal Lutheran University, a Division III school.

He has received plenty of attention over the past year. Per Schefter, Rogers visited 16 NFL teams and had offers from 13 of them.

With his size, it's easy to see why. Rogers is an enormous target who can muscle his way through the secondary and to the ball. Quarterbacks can seemingly throw the ball up and wait for him to go and get it.

The 49ers are trying to create a new look with head coach Chip Kelly now at the helm. He will have the responsibility of turning around the league's 29th-ranked passing offense that struggled mightily under the combination of quarterback Colin Kaepernick and backup Blaine Gabbert.

Whoever San Francisco's quarterback might be—Kaepernick's future is still up in the air with the 49ers, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee—Rogers is going to create a menacing presence that could help out the passing game moving forward.
