Manchester City left-back Aleksandar Kolarov left the pitch on a stretcher during the Jan. 16 match against Crystal Palace. Despite suffering a calf injury, he is now ready for competitive action.

Kolarov Starts vs. Leicester

Saturday, Feb. 6

After making an 11-minute substitute appearance against Sunderland on Feb. 2, Kolarov was named in City's starting lineup for the top-of-the-table clash with Leicester.

Pellegrini Reveals Kolarov Timeline

Friday, Jan. 22

"Aleks has a muscle injury in his calf—not very big," said manager Manuel Pellegrini. "I hope at the end of the next week he’ll be working with the squad."

Kolarov Suffers Non-Contact Injury

Saturday, January 16

As noted by City, Kolarov suddenly went down early in the second half against Crystal Palace without any indication of what might have happened. Gael Clichy eventually came on as a substitute, but Kolarov couldn't leave the pitch without the help of a stretcher.

City Will Miss Kolarov's Attacking Instincts

The 30-year-old has been City's regular starter at left-back, where he's been his usual, dominant self, bombing forward to support the attack and shutting down opposing wingers.

Clichy is an experienced replacement who can always hold his own, but City's incisive attacking play loses an added spark when Kolarov's delivery is missing.
