Twitter Reacts as Christian Benteke Helps Liverpool Beat Leicester on Boxing Day
Liverpool claimed three points on Boxing Day with a breathless 1-0 win over league leaders Leicester City.
Shortly before half-time, Divock Origi picked up an injury that brought £32 million striker Christian Benteke onto the field. Reds fans weren't too impressed by his early contributions:
However, the tune soon changed when Benteke put the Reds ahead in the 63rd minute after latching on to a Roberto Firmino pass with a well-taken half-volley:
"Bet Klopp still doesn't play Benteke from start in next game. Probably put Milner up front instead

Yet Benteke did manage to put another dampener on his performance with a terrible miss at the death:
"5 on 1? Benteke with the open goal? Shut up. https://t.co/jrdpPTGdGr

The win gave some Liverpool fans some aspirations of Premier League success that were rather quickly shot down:
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, meanwhile, gave a tongue-in-cheek reaction to his former side's loss at Anfield:
