Flowers Hoping to Rebound from Tough 2015
Through three games this season, Flowers has racked up 19 total tackles.
Flowers, 30, had a rough 2015 season—much like the Chargers in general. He was placed on injured reserve in December with a knee injury, finishing the year with 33 tackles and four passes defensed. It was the first time in his career that he failed to register an interception.
The 2013 Pro Bowler's return in 2016 was expected to help the Chargers return to respectability after a dreadful 2015 season, but this latest injury is a blow to the team's defense.
At his best, Flowers is an impact corner capable of slowing down an opponent's top wideout, making him invaluable in the team's secondary.
Flowers struggled in 2015, as his play appeared to regress, though the entire defense's play also regressed around him. He was expected to rebound in 2016 and will try and live up to that promise now that he's back in the lineup.
