White Placed on Injured Reserve

Wednesday, Oct. 5

The Bears announced they have placed White on IR and promoted fullback Paul Lasike to the active roster in his place.

White Struggling to Stay Healthy in NFL

White was placed on the physically unable to perform list with a stress fracture in his left tibia prior to the start of the 2015 season and finally returned to practice before the Bears' Week 12 clash with the Green Bay Packers

However, the 24-year-old reported to organized team activities healthy and ready to prove he had soaked up plenty of knowledge since arriving in the Windy City.

"It’s a lot easier now," White said, per the Chicago Sun-Times' Adam L. Jahns. "Last year, everything seemed so fast. It was really hard trying to learn the concepts because at West Virginia I stayed on one side, and everything was a hand signal."

Four games into the 2016 season, White caught 19 passes for 187 yards and zero touchdowns working opposite No. 1 wideout Alshon Jeffery.

With White forced to miss extended action, veteran pass-catcher Eddie Royal should become a more featured piece of the Bears passing attack. Quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Jay Cutler, when healthy, also figure to lean more heavily on tight end Zach Miller.
