Roberto Carlos Says He Is Keen on a Real Madrid or Brazil Coaching Job

Joe GallagherNov 3, 2015

Real Madrid and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos has admitted he would be interested in a coaching position with either of his old teams if the opportunity arose, reports Marca.

The iconic left-back is currently coaching Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League and, in an interview with Spanish radio, admits that his dream would be to return to his former stomping ground in a managerial capacity.

He spent 11 years at the La Liga club before moving to Fenerbahce in 2007.

"I'm working and learning here in order to come back as Real Madrid boss or head coach with Brazil, where I played for 17 years," Roberto Carlos told Onda Cero radio's Al Primer Toque. "I think the doors to both are open to me. If the time ever comes for me to return to Real Madrid, I'll do it gladly."

He said he would "never criticise" current Madrid boss Rafa Benitez and reserved praise for Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He's on good form. World-class players can adapt to any position, even in goal. That's the difference between Cristiano and every other player. He enjoys himself out on the pitch, and he entertains those of us who watch him play."

He also praised left-back Marcelo, whom he believes is the best in the world in that position, and predicted Barcelona and Brazil star Neymar to be the best player in the planet in a matter of years.
