TOUR Championship 2015: Final Leaderboard Scores, Prize Money Payouts and More
Jordan Spieth's phenomenal 2014-15 PGA Tour season became even better at the conclusion of the FedEx Cup playoffs on Sunday at the TOUR Championship.
Spieth held a one-stroke lead entering the final round at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta and did enough to hold on for a victory. The 22-year-old phenom posted a one-under 69 to secure a four-shot triumph and the FedEx Cup title, which comes with a cool $10 million bonus.

ESPN's Darren Rovell added more to show how much Spieth has made overall amid what will go down as one of the best individual seasons in PGA Tour history:
That whole "drive for show, putt for dough" expression seems to hold particularly true in Spieth's case.
"This is an event where we approach it like a major championship. Mentally we stayed in it. ... Boy that putter sure paid off," said Spieth afterward, per Golf Digest.
As has often been the case during Spieth's meteoric rise to stardom, his putter proved to be the difference in separating from the field. Spieth drained clutch putts with ease down the stretch with a confident swagger that couldn't be interrupted even in the rares instances when Henrik Stenson applied pressure.
It wasn't a perfect day by any means for Spieth. He birdied the par-three second but dropped shots at Nos. 4 and 5. A nice recovery came when Spieth birdied Nos. 8 and 9 to turn in one under. The roller coaster continued when Spieth bogeyed the par-four 10th.
Then the flat iron heated up for Spieth from long distance on a momentous birdie putt, per the PGA Tour's official Twitter account:
From there it was more about hanging on and grinding out pars than going low. Spieth managed to get the job done. When Stenson hit a shank from the fairway on the par-four 17th that led to a double bogey, the walk up the par-three closing hole was completely stress-free.
To Stenson's credit, he rolled in a birdie bomb to cap off his tournament to jump back into a tie for second. Although Spieth didn't hit his best lag putt on the final green, he drained another excellent par save to finish in style.
Peaking at the right time in the postseason is difficult, particularly after the run Spieth went on in his 2015 major campaign, winning two and not finishing outside the top four. Stephanie Wei of Fox Sports Asia weighed in on what Spieth has done:
East Lake proved to be a tough test of golf, so it was only fitting that arguably the most mentally resilient young player to come along in recent memory came out on top.
Sure, playing golf at the highest level requires uncommon fortitude and determination between the ears. Spieth's ability to lock in at his young age is just another facet of what makes him so special, though.
Golf Channel's Justin Ray put Spieth's accomplishments in perspective:
Kyle Porter of CBS Sports believes Spieth will go down in golf lore for his epic display during the calendar year:
European Tour social media manager Jamie Kennedy added another notable anecdote:
Spieth had to endure the phenomenal run Jason Day went on with four wins in six starts, which finally came to a halt at the TOUR Championship as Day finished in a still-stellar tie for 10th on two under par. The prodigy also missed the first two cuts in the playoffs, only to rally and save his best for last on Sunday.
Day congratulated Spieth afterward and hinted at a rivalry that figures to continue:
The race for No. 1 in the world—and likely PGA Tour Player of the Year honors—goes to Spieth for now, but the battle in the next calendar year will be fascinating to witness.
Talented and consistent as Spieth has been this season, Rory McIlroy can only wonder what could have been had he not suffered an ankle injury. McIlroy heads to next year's Masters Tournament with the opportunity to complete the career Grand Slam as Spieth guards the green jacket.
Fresh off his maiden major and ascent to world No. 1, Day is going to be a factor moving forward as well. He proved capable of sustaining dominant golf for a rather lengthy span of time, so he is definitely in the conversation among the true elite.
It's easy to look at what's on the horizon in golf given the bright future three superstars have and what they've accomplished to date. For now, the priority should be celebrating Spieth's greatness and savoring the epic heights he's reached with his prime still well ahead of him.
