Undertaker and Kane Must Have 1 Last High-Profile Match

Tom ClarkSep 26, 2015

Kane is back on WWE programming now, and as fans watch his character mentally deteriorate, it's obvious he is likely on a collision course with Seth Rollins at some point. Rollins is without a main event opponent, and The Big Red Machine is perhaps the best candidate to fill that spot.

But if and when he's done with Rollins, Kane has an important date with destiny, as Undertaker will be waiting.

It's a match that fans have seen many times before—brother versus brother. Taker and Kane are two sides of the same coin and two characters who are meant to be intertwined, and that means they will come back together eventually.

So long as they are both active members of the WWE roster, then another match is always on the table.

Some fans might question the age of both men and say the bout should not take place. (Undertaker is 50; Kane is 48). They have had some serious wars in the past, but it's tough to believe they would perhaps go halfheartedly into a new rivalry now because of their age.

If that was indeed the case, then they probably would not move forward at all. Both Taker and Kane have too much respect for the business and each other to go into anything with the volume turned down.

But they know each other, are familiar with each other in the ring and could likely have a good match without much fear of risking serious injury. It would almost have the feel of brothers working with each other instead of against each other.

They could definitely have an entertaining match, and the best part is there would be little need of setup to make it happen.

The history of Undertaker vs. Kane is one of the best stories ever told in a WWE ring. The idea of brothers born of fire with a disturbing history is one that could only work in professional wrestling, but it's one that both guys embraced.

They made it work. They made it real, and despite how outlandish the storyline between them was at times, they gave every effort to get it over and were successful as a result. Fans were able to lose themselves in this warped Cain and Abel story—so much that the link between them is still there to this day.

The time is right to light the fire between them again. Each man has done it all in WWE, and it seems impossible they will not cross paths. If it's going to happen, it will likely happen soon.

The Deadman and The Big Red Monster only have a limited number of years left in the ring. In order for them to wrap up their careers and finally resolve all the issues between them, a match is necessary.

WWE could bill it as their final showdown. The match would be for ultimate bragging rightsto finally decide which demon is the most twisted and wants the win more. The man to walk away would be the strongest one from the familythe alpha male.

Undertaker is going into yet another confrontation with Brock Lesnar, which will be more of a war than a wrestling match. A WrestleMania 32 match with Sting may be in serious doubt now thanks to The Icon's recent injuries at Night of Champions. There is no undefeated streak for John Cena or anyone else to possibly conquer.

A good and plausible feud would be with Kane. It would be a safe choice but an entertaining one at the same time. Undertaker really had no depth of character at all until Kane came to WWE, and Kane's core identity is linked to The Deadman. They are forever connected because of this, and they need at least one more feud to bring their eternal storyline full circle.
