Liverpool Transfer News: Jordan Henderson Eyed by PSG, Demarai Gray Rumours
Liverpool could be facing yet another fight to keep one of their top players, as Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made Reds skipper Jordan Henderson a key transfer target.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Rhys Turrell in the Daily Star), the French champions want to work out a deal to take the 25-year-old Englishman to the Parc des Princes.
PSG already have adequate depth in central midfield with Thiago Motta, Marco Veratti, Adrien Rabiot and Blaise Matuidi.
However, Motta's career is coming to a close—he is now 33—and Matuidi has been linked with a potential move to Chelsea, per Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Turrell in the Daily Star).

PSG manager Laurent Blanc could thus be in the market for a central midfielder soon.
Henderson took over as Liverpool captain in the summer after the departure of Steven Gerrard, but he is currently sidelined until November due to a foot injury. That is a big blow for the Reds after their miserable start to the season, as noted by Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
It is highly unlikely that the Anfield outlet would allow Henderson to depart, nor would the former Sunderland man be likely to want to leave Merseyside.
However, the midfielder could be tempted by the prospect of playing Champions League football and winning domestic titles, while PSG have the money to stump up a sizeable transfer fee.
In the long-term, though, Liverpool need to start keeping hold of players like Henderson. They have sold key men Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling in successive transfer windows, and to lose Henderson would be a damning indictment of the club's position in the European hierarchy.
Despite losing Sterling to City in the summer, Liverpool could reportedly snap up his potential successor as early as January, with Birmingham City's Demarai Gray set to become available for as little as £3.5 million in the winter transfer window, per John Cross in the Mirror.

The 19-year-old English winger attracted interest from Bournemouth and Liverpool in the summer but ended up signing a new contract with the Blues.
Per Cross, though, his buyout clause drops to £3 million next summer, and he will be available for little more than that in January also.
He would surely be a fine addition to the Reds squad, as he could bring the type of creativity Sterling used to provide.
Gray has been impressive in the new Championship season and performed well when Birmingham played Aston Villa in the League Cup on Tuesday, per football broadcaster Mark Pougatch:
He could add some youthful verve to a Liverpool attack that has been fairly dire so far this season.
