Firefighters Race to Chris Smalling's House After His Hot Tub Catches Fire

Firefighters in the North West must have some impression of footballers!

Who could forget the moment in 2011, when Mario Balotelli, then at Manchester City, had a party for the ages that saw dozens of fireworks being set off inside his house. 

The fire brigade had to deal with that incident, and now Chris Smalling's mansion has come under their radar after his hot tub caught fire on Tuesday night. 

As reported by the Manchester Evening News:

Emergency crews rushed to the plush pad on millionaires' row Bowdon, Altrincham, last night after the device caught alight in the back garden.

It’s understood that the Reds defender was not at home at the time and the incident was caused by an electrical fault.

The Manchester United defender seemed to be having a "lads night" at an unknown location on Tuesday night. 

Let's just hope that location wasn't a 1986 North American ski resort or something really funky might have happened and he could be challenging Paul McGrath and Kevin Moran for a place in the Manchester United back four.
