Rory MarsdenMay 2, 2015

Floyd Mayweather Sr. has ruled out the possibility of a rematch between his son and Manny Pacquiao after the 38-year-old claimed a unanimous-decision victory over the Filipino in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. outboxed Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena to keep his unbeaten record intact—it now stands at 48-0.

It was a dominant performance from the now-unified WBC, WBA and WBO welterweight champion in the hotly anticipated fight.

Mayweather's father and trainer, Floyd Sr., said after the fight that a rematch is not necessary given his son's dominance, per The Associated Press' Greg Beacham:

It was expected Pacquiao would cause Mayweather significant problems, but while the 36-year-old landed a few telling blows, it was a convincing and deserved victory for the American.

The judges scored the fight unanimously in favour of Mayweather, per Top Rank's Crystina Poncher:

Mayweather said after his victory that he would fight just one more time before retiring from boxing, per Sports Illustrated: "My last fight is in September, then it's time for me to hang it up."

After Money's masterclass against Pacquiao, his final opponent is unlikely to come close to beating him, and he will surely retire undefeated.
