The 2008 Stanley Cup Finals: How Do YOU Think It Will Happen?

Do you yearn to have your opinion heard about the Stanley Cup Finals? Are you longing to predict a rousing Red Wings victory or be presumptuous about the Penguins march to the finals? Do you want to look spiffy like Miah Drew in your very own Bleacher Report t-shirt?

Well, now you can.

With the Stanley Cup finals just around the corner, Bleacher Report is introducing the Taking the Stanley Cup Finals One Game at a Time contest.

It's pretty straightforward to. All you have to do is write an article that breaks down the upcoming Stanley Cup championship between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings on a game-by-game basis.

Tell us who will score the game winners, which games go to overtime, and who wins the Stanley cup and you stand a great shot at winning a Bleacher Report t-shirt.

After finishing your article, just make sure it contains a reference to the contest (Example: Red Wings Going for Stanley One Game at a Time) in the title, as well as the tag of NHL Prediction Contest, and you're entered!

Each article will be submitted to a rigorous scoring system to determine which article will stand alone as the Master of all Predicators this spring.

Want to know how the scoring breaks down? Well here it is:

-If the team you choose wins the cup: 2 Points (there are only two choices after all).

-If the team does it on home ice, you get a bonus point.

-If the Number of games in a series is chosen correctly: 3 points

-If you choose the correct winner of a game: 5 points

-If you predict the correct amount of goals scored in the game (overall): 5 points

-If you predict a game to go to overtime (for example game 2) and it does: 3 points
 
-If the Conn Smythe Winner is chosen correctly: 4 points

-For an additional 5 points you can also:

-Choose the leading goal scorer, and point producer of the finals series.

-Predict which goalie has the highest save percentage and goals against average in the series.

Note: Ties will be broken by a shootout, to be overseen by Gary Bettman or a skill testing mathematical equation. Or we'll figure something else out if need be...

So there you have it—our very first contest here on the NHL page! And being the inaguaral winner of the Taking the Stanley Cup Finals One Game at a Time contest could only take four games (or five, six, or seven).
