Masters Schedule 2015: Sunday Tee Times, TV Coverage, Live Stream, Predictions

Stuart NewmanApr 12, 2015

A Masters Sunday is normally a day full of potential scenarios and questions that need answering, but as 2015’s tournament approaches its finale, there’s only one: Can anyone catch Jordan Spieth?

The 21-year-old shot a two-under 70 on Saturday to take him to 16 under overall and four shots clear of the pack. However, there were signs that the formerly ice-cold American was beginning to crack, with sloppy bogeys littering his card for the first time.

So, is the door open for the likes of Justin Rose, Phil Mickelson, Charley Hoffman and Co.? Here’s a look at the 2015 Masters leaderboard heading into Sunday’s play, together with tee times of those vying to don the green jacket.

Augusta Drama Awaits

AUGUSTA, GA - APRIL 11: Jordan Spieth of the United States hits his tee shot on the 12th hole as Charley Hoffman of the United States looks on during the third round of the 2015 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club on April 11, 2015 in Augusta

Before anyone writes off the chasing pack’s chances in this year’s Masters, let’s cast our minds back to 2011’s tournament, where Rory McIlroy was already being measured up for the green jacket on Saturday evening.

The Northern Irishman held a four-shot lead over the field after executing three fantastic rounds heading into Sunday’s play, but the disastrous collapse that followed is now the stuff of legend.

So long as McIlroy hasn’t won the Masters, the golfing world will point back to that moment. Spieth, then, will be hoping that he doesn’t suffer a similar meltdown as he hunts his first major.

Despite Saturday not being the American’s best day at the office, it will have given him ample encouragement and confidence heading into Round 4.

It was an up and down day for Spieth to say the least, but when you don’t fire on all cylinders and still sign for a two under par round, there’s plenty of reasons to be cheerful.

Here’s a look at the youngster’s Saturday, courtesy of the Masters’ official Twitter feed:

However, he’ll be looking over his shoulder with interest when play gets underway on Sunday, as Rose and Mickelson, with major-winning experience on their side, are hot on his heels.

Both players produced stunning rounds of 67 to move 12 and 11 under par respectively, with Rose putting together an exceptional final stretch of holes to fire himself into contention.

The Englishman birdied five of Augusta’s last six, with a chip in at the par-three 16th keeping up his outstanding momentum, per The Masters:

Rose has been in fantastic form since the start of the tournament, and with just four shots separating him and his first green jacket, he’ll fancy his chances.

One man that knows a thing or two about winning the Masters is Mickelson, whose seven birdies and two bogeys on Saturday put him in line for the title once again.

And Spieth admitted that it’s going to be difficult to shake off his competitors on Sunday while discussing Saturday’s display with BBC Sport:

"

If you'd told me I was going to make seven birdies on Saturday, when it's meant to be harder, I'd have called you crazy. With a lead you want to limit the mistakes which I didn't do so well but I ground it out. I'm not going to think about being in the lead—I've got two major champions behind me and it's not going to be easy but I'm in a position I'm happy with.

It could have been a lot better for the left-hander, too, but lapses in concentration mean that he’ll start in the penultimate group alongside Hoffman, who’s a further shot back at 10 under par.

However, all eyes will be on the group of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, as the two giants of the game aim to hunt down a 10-shot deficit.

Both the world No. 1 and the former king of the sport signed for rounds of 68 to move to six under for the tournament, but a miracle would be needed for either of them to move into serious contention.

Instead, it’s looking very much like a three-horse race between Spieth, Rose and Mickelson, with Hoffman likely to fall back as the trio battle it out.

It could all be a case of how well Spieth copes under pressure, but ever since racing into the lead on Day 1, he’s been solid as a rock.

Will a level-par round be enough for the 21-year-old to claim his first green jacket? Possibly; but with pressure on his shoulders and top-class players hunting him down, even a round of 72 will prove tricky.

From a neutral perspective, let’s hope for a three-way play-off between Rose, Spieth and Mickleson to really crank the tension up, but realistically, this is Spieth’s title to lose.

Hitting pars will be the order of the day early on, with the back nine giving him the platform from which to build and find birdies.

With the putter red-hot, though, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the American strike in the opening exchanges and cement his dominance at the top.

Potentially one major down, there could be many more to come for the talented Spieth.
