Andrew Harrison Apologizes to Frank Kaminsky for Insensitive Remark
Kentucky guard Andrew Harrison took to social media early Sunday to apologize to Wisconsin forward Frank Kaminsky for an insensitive comment made during the Wildcats' postgame press conference.
The Badgers advanced to the national title game with a 71-64 victory over the previously undefeated Cats Saturday. Afterward, a microphone picked up Harrison whispering a racial slur when Karl-Anthony Towns was asked about Kaminsky.
Harrison said he called the nation's top player this season to say he was sorry and wished him luck against Duke on Monday night:
Matt Norlander of CBS Sports passed along a comment from Kaminsky regarding the situation:
Campus Insiders' Bonnie Bernstein spoke with Kentucky coach John Calipari about Harrison's comment:
Kaminsky finished with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting. Harrison tallied 13 points and four assists on 5-of-11 from the field.
Kevin Manahan of NJ.com passed along brief remarks from Kentucky spokesman Eric Lindsey about the situation, which will be reviewed.
"We have no comment until we have had a chance to evaluate it," Lindsey said.
