Zlatan Ibrahimovic Applies for US Visa, According to Rumour in Sweden
Now this is the sort of rumour to get MLS fans excited.
Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported (in Swedish) that Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has applied for a US visa that "allows for an indefinite stay in the US, not just as a tourist."
Both MLSsoccer.com and Sky Sports have reported details in English from the Swedish report.

Journalist Kristan Heneage also noted the report in his Twitter feed.

Sources told Aftonbladet that Zlatan visited the US Embassy in Paris to apply for the visa. There is no other indication that Ibrahimovic went there for football reasons, but he has spoken about the MLS in the past.
He told Sports Illustrated last summer that he would consider a move to the MLS in the future saying:
"I will really think about it because I find it very interesting to come over to America because my friend Thierry Henry [since retired] is playing there and he's doing fantastic there. And he talks a lot of positive about the Major League Soccer, so it's an interesting thing if the opportunity is still there in two to three years.
"
Ibrahimovic's PSG contract runs until 2016 so despite the visa news, fans in America might have to wait a while to see him, even if he is keen on joining.
Nevertheless the speculation of an MLS move for the 33-year-old is only set to intensify after Aftonbladet's report.
