Patriots' Hotel Fire Alarm Goes Off Again

Thursday, Jan. 29

According to Kimberly Jones of NFL.com, the Patriots had the fire alarm go off at their hotel for the second time in the last three nights.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe passed along a statement from the hotel detailing the incident:

ESPN.com news services provided more details behind the alarm and comments from Tom Brady:

"

But you can place blame elsewhere after the fire alarm went off in the players wing of the team hotel at 2 a.m. Thursday, team sources told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

(...)

Quarterback Tom Brady said Thursday he slept through the second alarm as well.

'I must be sleeping through it,' Brady said. 'I slept great.'

"

Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal also had a hard time finding a Patriots player disturbed by the alarm:

Patriots Awakened by Fire Alarm Before Media Day

Tuesday, Jan. 27

The New England Patriots have their fair share of distractions to deal with entering Super Bowl XLIX, but they encountered an unexpected one early Tuesday morning in Arizona.

According to NFL Network's Jeff Darlington, the fire alarm at the Pats' team hotel went off just past 3:30 a.m. ET, which was 1:30 a.m. local time:

Darlington noted that while the alarm didn't last long, it was fairly loud:

The alarm might have been loud, but Rob Gronkowski said he wasn't disturbed by the noise, via Stephen Cohen of SeattlePI.com:

New England's players and coaches have a big Tuesday ahead of them in the form of Super Bowl media day, so the chaos certainly couldn't have been welcomed.

With every player and coach likely to get bombarded with questions regarding Deflategate, the Patriots need to be as well rested as possible.
