Andrew Jackson Arrested: Latest Details, Comments and More

Still reeling from their 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots in last week's AFC Championship Game, the Indianapolis Colts were hit with more bad news Friday.

According to Sabrina Adams of Fox59.com, Colts linebacker Andrew Jackson was arrested early Friday morning in Bowling Green, Kentucky, for careless driving and was suspected of driving under the influence.

The Indy Star provided more information on the arrest:

Jackson, 22, Carmel, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence later and reckless driving Friday in Warren District Court in Bowling Green, Ky., and was sentenced to 14 days of home incarceration and participation in an alcohol and drug education program. His driving license was suspended for a year in Kentucky and Florida, his home state.

Jackson, who was released from jail at 12:30 p.m. Friday, also was ordered to pay fines and court costs of $1,000 at his next court appearance on May 20.

Muncie City Court records also show that a case was filed against Alexander on June 24, charging him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, speeding and failure to use a turn signal.

As pointed out by ESPN.com's Mike Wells, Jackson's arrest is simply the latest disappointment for the franchise:

Jackson was a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft out of Western Kentucky. He appeared in 13 regular-season games for Indy as a rookie, logging 10 tackles and one sack.

He also played in all three of the Colts' playoff games, including the loss to New England.

It is unclear what is next for Jackson both from a legal perspective and from a career standpoint, but he was released from jail Friday afternoon, per Adams.

Jackson obviously wasn't a key player for the Colts in 2014, but he was a solid reserve who played special teams and filled a role.

With minimal investment in Jackson, though, it will be interesting to see how the Colts organization handles this situation.
