Adidas Damian Lillard 1 Shoe Unveiled: Pictures, Release Date and Details

Timothy RappJan 13, 2015

Damian Lillard has torn up the NBA in his three seasons in the league. So it's only fitting he now has his own signature shoe with Adidas, the D Lillard 1, hitting the market in February.

On Tuesday, Lillard tweeted the unveiling of his new kicks:

Adidas Basketball tweeted more details of the new shoe:

There will also be a featured purple version of the shoe hitting the market:

It was all enough to get Minnesota Timberwolves star point guard Ricky Rubio feeling pretty excited:

Nothing like a little love from one point guard to another.

Bleacher Report's Lance Fresh got up close and personal with the new kicks, as he posted on Instagram:

He also got Lillard's thoughts on the new line of shoes:

He's a natural salesman.

Lillard has been nothing short of awesome for the Portland Trail Blazers since hitting the league in 2012 as the sixth overall pick out of Weber State. He was Rookie of the Year in his first season and made the All-NBA third team last year while memorably leading the Blazers past the Houston Rockets in the first round of the NBA playoffs after hitting a series-winning three-pointer at the buzzer in Game 6.

Lillard has been as good as ever this year, averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game while helping to lead Portland to an impressive 30-8 record. So yes, it was high time Mr. Lillard was rocking his own shoe.

While the stock shoes presented should be popular choices, the fact that fans can customize their own version of the kicks likely will be a major selling point. And it doesn't hurt that Lillard's name and the new logo Adidas created for the signature series will be on them, as Lillard remains one of the league's top rising stars.

Just ask the Rockets.
