Phil McNulty of the BBC reported Koscielny's injury while BT Sport (h/t ESPN FC) noted that it was the defender's groin that was hurt.

After the match, Wenger downplayed the severity of the injury, per Ben Dinnery of ESPNFC:

Koscielny is arguably the Gunners' most important defender. His lack of consistent fitness—highlighted when he missed matches through October, November and December—has left Arsenal stuttering at the back this campaign.

Per Mertesacker's form has dipped in the absence of his long-term partner while manager Arsene Wenger has been forced to deploy full-backs, such as Mathieu Debuchy and Nacho Monreal, in the centre. Youngster Calum Chambers is yet to prove himself properly disciplined to fulfil this role at the top level, but he has also filled in for the thin squad.

Koscielny's niggling problems underline Wenger's inability to often deploy a full-strength lineup. Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and the eternally injured Abou Diaby are among those who have endured lengthy spells this season.
