The Blackhawks Released a Stupid, Spectacular All-Star Promo for Jonathan Toews

Jonathan Toews is in the mix for Western Conference All-Star honors, meaning the Chicago Blackhawks must, by the very nature of the beast, promote his candidacy to the masses.

Teams usually go about these public relations stunts in a typical, cheesy and pandering fashion. The Blackhawks did just that, and the weird part is, it worked.

Chicago released a 1980s-tinged, technicolor promo Friday asking fans to include the “Canadian dream” on their All-Star ballots. The product is a very dumb but highly entertaining bit involving gratuitous spandex and Toews frowns.

There were also Toews frowns.

Patrick Kane and a few more of Toews' Blackhawks teammates arrive toward to end of the video and endeavor in a number of non-athletic moves you will never fully scour from your mind’s eye.
