Odell Beckham Sets Giants' Single-Month Records for Receptions, Yards

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 2, 2014

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. put together an impressive November, setting franchise single-month records with 38 receptions and 593 receiving yards, per Elias Sports Bureau, via ESPN.com.

The rookie out of LSU blew by the previous team mark of 524 receiving yards, set by Amani Toomer in December 2002. The old record of 32 receptions was jointly held by Jeremy Shockey (Dec. 2002), Hakeem Nicks (Oct. 2010) and Victor Cruz (Sept. 2012).

Beckham, Shockey and Toomer all set or matched the records during months in which they played five games, while Nicks and Cruz needed just four games to accumulate 32 receptions in their respective record-tying months.

Even with the benefit of a fifth game, Beckham's November has a strong case to be viewed as the finest receiving month in franchise history, as the rookie recorded at least six catches and 90 receiving yards in every contest.

He only scored two touchdowns during the month, but one of those was a highlight-reel reception that many are calling the most impressive catch in NFL history.

Beckham managed his incredible stats on just 53 targets, giving him a catch rate of 71.7 percent, along with an average of 11.2 yards per target.

Of course, for all of the 22-year-old rookie's heroics, the Giants still lost all five contests in November, pushing their losing streak to seven games.

The ongoing streak is the team's longest since an eight-game run of futility back in 2004, Tom Coughlin's first season as head coach, per Giants.com.
