Le'Veon Bell Takes 4th Place on Steelers' Single-Game Rushing List

Bleacher Report MilestonesNov 18, 2014

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell took the No. 4 spot on his franchise's single-game rushing list with a 204-yard performance in Monday's 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL on ESPN.

Bell finished the game with a career-best 204 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 33 carries, averaging an impressive 6.2 yards per rush.

Productive throughout Monday's game, the second-year Michigan State product was especially effective in the fourth quarter, when he piled up 74 yards on 12 carries.

Bell's touchdown came on the first snap of the final quarter, as he made his way in from five yards out to cut Tennessee's lead to 24-20. He also played a starring role on the next drive, with three carries for 20 yards and two receptions for 18 yards, helping to set up a go-ahead 12-yard touchdown pass to superstar teammate Antonio Brown.

Sitting at 192 rushing yards with under three minutes remaining, Bell broke off an eight-yard run to reach 200 on the final play before the two-minute warning.

He then closed the door on the Titans with a five-yard rush to convert a 2nd-and-2 on the very next play, but the Steelers, for some reason, opted not to kneel the ball and instead gave Bell another carry, which went for a one-yard loss.

Bell now owns one of just five 200-yard rushing performances in franchise history, joining Willie Parker (223, 2006), John Fuqua (218, 1970), Parker again (213, 2006) and John Henry Johnson (200, 1961).

As the Steelers enter a Week 12 bye, Bell is on pace to finish the year with 1,383 rushing yards, which would represent the fifth-best single-season total in Steelers history.
