WWE 2K15: Highlighting Most Exciting Pieces of Upcoming DLC

Brian MaziqueOct 16, 2014

WWE and 2K Sports announced most of the details associated with WWE 2K15's Season Pass DLC program. There looks to be even more content in store for fans than what has been offered in previous years.

That might explain the $5 price hike for the program from $19.99 to $24.99. Each item offered can be paid for separately, but consumers who are interested in each piece would of course pay less by simply buying the Season Pass. You can see all of the details below, per information provided to Bleacher Report.

There's new characters—in fact, you get the playable version of WWE Diva Paige just for signing up—new moves and arenas, but the potential payoff is bigger than that with WWE 2K15.

The focus of this year's program is on the 2K showcase single-player campaign. Gamers will be able to relive and interact with the main characters from some historic feuds in the WWE's history.

For starters, the retail version will ship with the Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels rivalry, and the John Cena vs. CM Punk program that helped launch Punk's star level through the roof.

While both of those feuds should keep gamers busy for awhile, it'll be only a matter of time before most will have played through each of the initial storylines. That's where this DLC could come in pretty handy.

Here's a look at the three pieces of content/concepts that might be the coolest aspects of the DLC rollout.

Mark Henry Getting an Extended Feature

Is it just me or is Henry one of the most underrated Superstars of all time? Whenever given the opportunity to carry a major storyline, Henry has pulled his weight.

The fake retirement speech he gave in 2013 was some of the best acting and mic work I've seen in the last 15 years. In case you forgot, this is what he does:

"You think it's that easy?!? I got a lot left in the tank!"

That segment alone is the type of performance that can draw in fans who can never appreciate the art. At any rate, I digress.

That DLC might not include this iconic moment, but it is likely to feature his ring-collapsing superplex to The Big Show at Vengeance 2011. That, too, was a legendary performance.

Henry has spent the better part of the last 18 years in WWE as a top performer. He absolutely deserves to be the focal point of a DLC package. Welcome to the Hall of Pain.

Lex Luger

As the Total Package, the Narcissist and other gimmicks, Luger was always a presence in the ring. Because of his size and strength (listed at 6'6", 275 pounds), Luger was one of the guys gamers created in recent WWE games because he was never included by the development team.

Thankfully, he's set to be an unlockable as part of the WCW DLC content update. I cannot wait to hoist some virtual jabroni on my shoulders and make them tap out from the Torture Rack.

Cesaro's Moves

Does any current WWE Superstar have a more impressive move set than Cesaro? You might get some arguments from fans of Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins, but Cesaro is an absolute machine.

He's one of the best mixtures of strength, athleticism and technical ability you'll find in professional wrestling. That's why it's so cool to have additional moves from his arsenal as part of the content update.

This is also great because it appears that the game will allow you to create a move-set as it did in previous versions. That hasn't been confirmed, and when I had hands-on time with the game last month, we couldn't access the creation suite.

This doesn't etch the feature in stone, but it's certainly a positive indicator of more depth being included in the game.

WWE 2K15 releases Oct. 28 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Nov. 18 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
