Kings XI Punjab climbed back on top of the 2014 Indian Premier League table with an impressive six-wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Kings XI chased down 206 to win at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, taking their season record to eight wins and two losses, for a total of 16 points.

Sunrisers suffered their sixth loss of the campaign, to remain in mid-table with eight points from their 10 matches.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field, only to see Shikhar Dhawan and Aaron Finch make a strong start for the Sunrisers.

The openers put on 65 before Australian Finch fell to Shivam Sharma for 30. Dhawan went soon after, having reached 45.

David Warner and Naman Ojha would continue the Hyderabad momentum. The pair put on 88 for the third wicket, with Warner run out short of his half-century.

Ojha finished the Sunrisers' innings unbeaten on 79, as they set a tough total for Kings XI.

Virender Sehwag fell early as the visitors began their reply, but Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha soon got things back on track with a fine second-wicket partnership.

When Saha was dismissed, Glenn Maxwell came to the crease and began an almighty assault on the Sunrisers attack—hitting five sixes in his rapid knock of 43.

South African David Miller and Maxwell's fellow Australian George Bailey saw things home for Kings XI—remaining unbeaten on 24 and 35, respectively, as they passed the target.

The winning blow was a six from Bailey.
