Everton head to Tenerife this week for a spot of warm-weather training.

While this may limit any official transfer business, it won't prevent the normal flux of speculation surrounding the club.

Halfway through January, Aiden McGeady is the Toffees' lone signing thus far. However, it still seems likely that more will join him by January 31, with one or two others departing.

Once again, here is your weekly dose of transfer rumours and stories surrounding Everton. Be sure to check back later in the week for any further developments.

For those keeping track of all Toffees-related links over the winter, last week's transfer gossip can be found here.

Benfica have entered the race to sign Michy Batshuayi, according to The Independent's Charles Reynolds.

The Standard Liege striker is supposedly a target for Everton to replace Nikica Jelavic.

However, as Reynolds reports, the Portuguese giants are now competing for his signature as a replacement for Rodrigo Moreno.

The Metro's Jamie Sanderson claims John Heitinga has turned down moves to Newcastle and West Ham to accelerate a switch to Roma.

Sanderson reports that deals have been agreed with both English clubs but the Dutchman is intent on a move to Italy.

He's reportedly met with Roma officials already and the Italian club would be willing to pay £1 million to sign him.

Everton's official website has confirmed Nikica Jelavic's departure to Hull City.

Everton did not disclose details of the fee involved.

There are increasing whispers of a new contract for Leighton Baines, as BBC Sport's Phil McNulty reports.

The England left-back has been heavily courted by Manchester United during several transfer windows, but now seems poised to commit his future to the Blues.

McNulty anticipates the deal being in the region of £75,000 per week, which would be signed upon the first team's return from Tenerife.

Hull appear to have won the race for Nikica Jelavic and are finalising a club-record deal to bring in the Croatian, as Ally McKay reports in The Independent.

McKay estimates the fee to be £6.5 million, with another £1 million should the Tigers avoid relegation.

Considering Jelavic was on a run of one goal in 30 games before his FA Cup double, this represents impressive business by the Toffees, having signed him for £5.5 million.

In one of the more surprising rumours of this current window, Everton have been linked with a move for Kenwyne Jones, according to The Guardian's Stuart James.

James reports that the Toffees are trying to complete a deal for £1 million, although the Potters are intent on recouping three times as much.

Jones is out of contract at the end of the season and has only started four Premier League games since August, which emphasises how peculiar this rumour is.

The Mirror's John Cross adds that Jones went on strike prior to Stoke's match with Liverpool, eager for his club to grant the move.

Nikica Jelavic's proposed move to Hull City leaves Everton short of bodies in attack.

One man linked as a potential replacement is Standard Liege's Michy Batshuayi, per Alan Nixon of The Mirror.

Nixon claims there have already been talks. However, he also writes that the Toffees would need to pay £7 million in one full payment to sign him, with his club reluctant to sell.

Roberto Martinez has put a £25 million price tag on Seamus Coleman and warned David Moyes away from his former player, according to Garry Doyle of the Daily Star.

Doyle quotes a source close to Martinez as saying: "Money talks to an extent but unless bidding starts at £25m, clubs are wasting their time."

The Irishman has arguably been the Toffees' player of the season thus far, and Doyle also claims he will be offered a new £65,000-per-week deal.

Following news of Hull City's accepted bid for Nikica Jelavic, it seemed only a matter of time before he left the club.

However, according to David Anderson of The Mirror, West Ham, Stoke and QPR could all still enter the race for his signature.

Anderson quotes Hull boss Steve Bruce as saying:

The difficult thing for me is that it [Hull's interest in Jelavic] is out there.

We hope we haven’t alerted anyone else and can still do the deal. But it is going to take time and persuading that this is the right platform for him.

While there's little chance of Jelavic playing for Everton again, it seems his next move may take a little time to complete.
