Blasting Chicago Bears: Reds' Broadcaster Marty Brennaman Continues Criticism
Marty Brennaman has done it again.
Fresh off his recent comments about the Cubs fans and organization, the Reds broadcaster decided to take his insults one step further and blast Bears’ fans everywhere.
“When I made the comments [about Cubs fans] last week, I was just getting warmed up for what I’m about to say next,” Brennaman said in an interview.

Brennaman then proceeded to say, “Bears fans overrate their team much like Cubs fans do. They were so pretentious going into last season. Who else would take the Bears’ defense the first round of a fantasy draft?
"A Bears fan. Same for Adrian Peterson being taken in the draft at all. I’m telling you, it’s karma that their team finished 7-9. It was God’s way of saying ‘Guess what, you’re not so great.’
"Oh yeah, that’s right. Cubs’ fans are also Bears’ fans. It’s so obvious. Bigger bears mean bigger whiners. All they do is complain about the quarterback situation and that Devin Hester can run any offensive route worth a damn.
"Is it any wonder why people don’t like them or their team?
"They’re either very pretentious, or they whine about everything. That’s not what being a football fan is all about.
"Why do you think that Superfans sketch on Saturday Night Live originated in the first place?
"That was no compliment. Wake up, people! They were making fun of you! Ditka is not God!
"You know how full of self-importance you are?
The Bears didn’t even win the Super Bowl when that sketch was around! Dynasty? Not a chance!”
Brennaman is expected to bring heavy security with him during the Reds’ next visit to Chicago from July 8-10.
