Breakers Return to Action Sunday at Sky Blue FC
The Boston Breakers return to WPS action this weekend when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to take on Sky Blue FC, Sunday at 6 PM. The match can be seen live on Fox Soccer Channel as this week’s "WPS Sunday on FSC" match.
Despite coming off a bye week, the Breakers (3-2-2, 11 points) remain in second place in the league standings, but are now six points behind the first-place Los Angeles Sol (5-1-2, 17 points) with a game in-hand. Boston still owns a one-point lead on third-place FC Gold Pride (3-4-1, 10 points).
The Breakers are unbeaten in their last three WPS matches, including a 1-1 draw at home versus the Washington Freedom last time out on May 17. The team played a pair of friendly matches against WPSL teams to stay sharp over the bye week, winning 4-0 against both Boston Aztec last Thursday, and SoccerPlus CT on Monday.
