Moving Today's Market

Two Major League Baseball games are attracting some wagering interest today. One of baseball's best pitchers, Jake Peavy, will attempt to subdue the once-potent Colorado Rockies offense.

It's hard to forget the Rocks' amazing end-of season run in 2007 when every pitch seemed to look like a beach ball to Rockies hitters.

Well this year…not so much.

They're hitting an abysmal .246 as a team, and have generated only 9 round-trippers. By comparison, the Diamondbacks lead the league with 24 homers. The Marlins have launched 23. It'll be hard to generate their 10^th facing Peavy.

In another game drawing interest, the Red Sox send Josh Beckett to the hill to face the home-standing New York Yankees and aging star Moose Mussina.

With Cincy facing the Cubs at Wrigley, the public ran with the Reds and rookie phenom Edison Volquez. Installed as slight underdogs against the Cubbies and the cerebral southpaw Ted Lilly, the Reds were on the receiving end of three Steam Moves this morning and coasted to a 9-2 win.
