Magic-Cavaliers: Just Like the Fall of Troy

CLEVELAND - MAY 20: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers drives to the hoop against Dwight Howard #12 of the Orlando Magic in Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2009 Playoffs at Quicken Loans Arena on May 20, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio. Orlando just stole our Helen—home-court advantage.

In a stunning loss, the Cavaliers were dominated by a juggernaut. They were beaten and beaten badly.

Shooting 55 percent from the floor? How nasty is that? Not in our house—well, actually it was in our house. Orlando's young princes Hector and Paris (Howard and Lewis) ran away with the most coveted thing that Cleveland posses—home-court advantage. Its what we played the last 82 games for.  Aaaagh!

Oh well, as Homer put it, a thousand Greek warships descended upon the waiting Trojans. Orlando, unlike the real Trojans, do not have a wall to hide behind. Or at least, I don't think they do.

However, Cleveland does have and Odysseus—and an Achilles on their side.

Enough with the comparisons. The Cleveland Cavaliers got handed a big ole piece of humble pie. I know that I am very biased when it comes to Cleveland sports. I think they are the best at everything and can't stand it when people don't acknowledge that.

Oh well, I am guilty. But what I not doing is giving up on this team and ready to declare the Orlando Magic the best team in the East. No way, no how.

First, how can Rome fall if it has not been built. Romulus and Remus have not declared the Cavaliers a dynasty yet. So this loss should not be that big of a deal. And it is not. The Orlando Magic won that game. Good job.

Now it is up to the Magic to prove that they are ready to be a champion. They need to show the world that they are for real—as do the Cavaliers. In my mind, this series is far from over.

Like LeBron said,  only I can beat me. The Cavaliers will live and die by their king. We have just seen that. Orlando has not seen Cleveland's secret weapon.

So I say this to the Orlando Magic: Thank You.

Because with that defeat you have given the Cavaliers the fuel to re-start the fire.

I look for the Cavaliers to come out and win the next two games and then bring a tied series back to the "Q" for Game Five.

Even though James was 20-30 for 49 points, he is going to have to find a way to get the rest of the team scoring. That is how they are going to win—oh yeah, and by playing defense too.

Series in six for the Cavaliers.

I can't believe I just thanked Orlando.
