When the Wind Blows: Chicago Cubs Win against Cincinnati Reds
With the wind blowing last night, there were a total of five homeruns hit, two by the Cincinnati Reds and three by the Chicago Cubs.
There was no bigger homerun than D-Lee's three run bomb in the fifth inning with one out. It put the Cubs back on top after Junior Griffey gave the Reds the lead in the top half of the third inning.
Mark Derosa continued his good start to the season by hitting his third homerun of the year off Reds’ ace, Aaron Harang, in the bottom of the first. This came after he had to switch to LF because of Soriano's calf injury.

Then with the game seemingly out of reach, Ryan "The Riot" Theriot came up and belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning to seal the deal.
Michael Wuertz, who continues to struggle a little bit, came on to pitch the ninth inning. After Wuertz gave up a solo shot to Joey Votto and letting another runner get on base, Lou pulled him and put in the fire-baller Kerry Wood.
Wood secured Dempster's second win of the year, and both pitchers seem to be off to good starts.
The defense tonight was also something to talk about. Little used utility man Mike Fontenot.
He made a game saving stop in the seventh inning on a diving stop on a ball up the middle. He dove and stopped the ball and in the same motion, flipped the ball to Theriot for the force at second.
Then in that same inning, D-Lee made a nice pick, a first to start a 3-6-3 doubt play to end the inning. Both of these plays were crucial in the Cubs victory since it seems momentum had switched over to the Reds.
Also, I would like to mention Felix Pie's nice catch while running into the bricks in left center. He came away limping but stayed in the game.
The last thing Cub fans need right now is another injury to a starting outfielder since it looks like Soriano might be heading to the DL. However, this should give Murton a chance to finally prove himself here in the big leagues.
I am a Murton fan, and I hope he succeeds. I also hope Soriano's injury isn't that bad, and he's back in the lineup sooner rather than later.
The Cubs go for their second win of the series tonight at 7:05 with Big Z on the mound facing Josh Fogg. If the wind is blowing again, expect another high scoring game, but look for Big Z to regain his form add to the Cubs current winning streak.
